About Us

In 1978, the Bead Shop in London, England began the concept of open-display bead stores. Finding a growing enthusiasm for beads and personal jewellery design, the company (JRM Beads, Ltd.) became a leading importer of beads from around the world. The growing investment and expertise led to an expansion into wholesaling and the company inspired the rapid growth of bead stores in many different countries.

Beadworks’ products are selected by a team of experienced beaders and jewellery makers. In 1983, a sister company, Beadworks, began trading in the United States as a mail order supplier. This led to the opening of the first US store in 1987. Today the American organization has two company stores and five franchise stores. Both companies continue to sell through mail order and wholesale, supplying designers, stores and individual customers around the world.

Beadworks' products are selected by a team of experienced jewelry makers dedicated to providing the finest in materials to support and inspire the creation of both amateur and professional designers. While classic and traditional designs form a core of our range, contemporary fashion is always the driving force in our search for new products. Beadworks buyers regularly travel to Europe and Asia to meet with producers and to obtain the best beads and other components at source.

The catalogue and internet range of beads provides our customers with a large and steadily available choice. Our retail stores add to this choice with an eclectic and ever-changing mix of beads displayed in a pleasant and inspirational setting.
