Shipping Policy
A. UNITED KINGDOM
There is a flat charge of £4.95 (plus
VAT) per parcel to most mainland U.K. addresses. Generally we use the 48-hour
service of either InterLink or United Parcels Service (UPS),
but neither serivice's punctuality is 100% guaranteed. (Please note that 48
hours refers to the time AFTER we have dispatched your order to you, NOT 48
hours after we have received your order).
Consignments to more remote U.K. areas may cost considerably more than the flat
charge. Prior to despatch, we will contact you to notify you of the actual
cost.
Small orders/packets (1kg maximum) maybe sent by Royal Mail (upon
request) provided that the customer takes full responsibility, should the
consignment be mislaid or damaged in transit. We will use either “Special
Delivery” or “First Class Recorded Delivery”,
depending on the consignment’s value. Please allow a minimum of
£4.95 (plus VAT) for either of these services.
If you require a faster or different service, please say so in the Comments box
on your order form. In such cases, we will contact you as soon as the order is
ready to be sent and let you know how much is the cost of your chosen service.
How long does delivery take? Delivery is usually made during
the working day following the day of despatch. However, to the remoter areas of
the U.K., delivery may take place on the second working day after the day of
despatch. This affects addresses in Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, Isle of
Man, Scilly Isles, BFPO and the Scottish Highlands and Islands.
Orders for collection from the Covent
Garden Bead Shop must be paid for in advance. Wholesale orders for
collection have no shipping/ handling charge. Retail orders for collection
carry a 5% handling charge, but no shipping charge. Orders uncollected within
14 days of the scheduled collection date will be returned to stock. In such
cases, your card will be refunded with the full order value, less a handling
charge of £5.00 plus VAT.
B. CONTINENTAL EUROPE
Parcels will generally be sent either by UPS “Standard”, Fedex , DHL
(but not to P.O. Box addresses), or by Parceline’s “DPD” service,
, whichever is cheapest. The standard provisional charge is
£40.00. We will adjust this upward or downward to
reflect the actual cost . (If the actual cost is higher than
£40.00, we will contact you before sending your order,
to obtain your agreement to the higher shipping charge). Consignments over
100kgs and/or of multiple parcels may be sent by truck, if this is cheaper than
the above options. We will contact you in advance of despatch to tell you which
transport method we advise and its cost. Parcels weighing less than 2kgs may be
sent by Registered AirSure (Royal Mail) instead, if this is
cheaper. We will charge the actual cost (minimum £7.50,
maximum £40.00, depending on the
weight).
If you require a faster or different service, please say so in the Comments box
on your order form. When your order is ready to be sent, we will contact you to
let you know how much is the cost of your chosen service.
How long does delivery take? To mainland Europe delivery is
generally made on the third to fifth working day after the day of despatch.
Delivery to European islands takes 1 or 2 working days longer. However, parcels
to non-E.U. countries may involve delays at local Customs.
C. REST OF THE WORLD
Parcels over 2kgs will be sent either by UPS
“Expedited” (or “Express”, if there is no Expedited
service available), Fedex, DHL (but not to P.O. Box
addresses), or by InterLink’s “WEP” service, whichever is the
cheapest. The standard provisional charge is £40.00,
but we will adjust this upward or downward to reflect the actual cost. (If the
actual cost is higher than £40.00,
we will contact you before despatching your order, to obtain your agreement to
the higher shipping charge).
Consignments of multiple parcels and/or over 100kgs may be sent by air freight,
if this is cheaper than the above options. We will contact you in advance of
despatch to let you know which transport method we advise and its cost.
Parcels weighing less than 2kgs will be sent by Registered AirSure (Royal
Mail). We will charge the actual cost (minimum
£10.00, maximum £30.00,
depending on the weight and the destination).
If you require a faster or different service, please say so in the Comments box
on your order form. When your order is ready to be sent, we will contact you to
let you know how much is the cost of your chosen service.
How long does delivery take? Generally delivery is made the
between the seventh and the tenth working day after the day of despatch. The
actual time will depend on the geographical location and the local Customs.
In the event of non delivery or non collection, because of the
customer's failure to respond to the carrier's card, note or telephone call,
the customer will be liable for the carrier's charges for returning the order
to us. This usually costs at least £11, which will be deducted from the amount
refunded.
